Title: General Election Debate
Description:
I am proposing this caucus as a place to have our General Election Debates.  I believe all members have the right to have full debates on site so that they can be easily observed, searched and reviewed.  I am proposing that the nominated candidates also plan specific times to debate, and that a mutually acceptable moderator (or moderators) are selected by the parties as they see fit to offer tough questions.

11/6/08
To Whom it May Concern:

I am a working, middle-aged, middle-income white male, "McCain Republican," veteran, Joe the Plumber and ......... a "swing" voter. In case anyone is interested why I voted for Barack Obama, it's simple. He was the better candidate. He is a great orator, has a well-thought platform, is an eloquent debator, and consistently acts and looks "presidential." I was quite prepared to vote for John McCain until after the first two debates and after Barack Obama, while in Pennsylvania, essentially promised that he would not try to infringe on individuals' rights to keep and bear arms. He defended the second amendment to the Constitution. That was good enough for me, despite his liberal history. I'll hold him to it.

I can only hope that the liberal wing of the Democratic Party does not come charging into the White House with a litany of liberal plans on their over-active minds. I don't want liberals, conservatives, blacks, whites, Republicans, Democrats, Christians, Jews, Muslims, lower class, middle class, upper class or ANY class to set the agenda. I want Barack Obama to - as per his platform, by consensus and reason, and for the collective welfare of this nation. He will be the one and only individual in this country who represents each and every American. Therefore, he has a collective power and we must all contribute to a collective will. That's the way forward and I believe Barack Obama is someone who can get 'er done.

Good luck to President Obama. He has my support and I will help in any way possible. We all should.

My very best regards,

Richard Fattengausse, member-at-large, House of Lords and candidate for President of the United States http://www.u4prez.com/ProfileView.aspx?UserID=4725

I agree Hawk.  I feel sorry for anyone who's ability is limited to name calling and vulgarity.  I expect the gloating but the immature means by which Libby does it just continues to show and prove my point time and time again.  Those who can't make a point to save thier ass, make a point to be an ass.  It's all they have.

I have to admit, Libby pissed me off yesterday but today, well lets just say that I am back to feeling sorry for him. I would hate to wake up everyday with his mental midgetness (that is new word word I just made up). I wake up everyday and feel pretty good about life, regardless of who is in the white house.

JOE LIEBERMAN IS PRESIDENT OF HIMSELF
  • LIEBERMAN-REID MEETING RESULTS IN NOTHING OF ANY VALUE: Harry Reid’s detention hour with Joe Lieberman has ended with “no decisions made.” This is Reid’s standard declaration when he knows he’s about to capitulate on something. And of course, Lieberman is being an **** now and trying to control the conversation, saying that an end to “partisanship” is one of “the standards I will use in considering the options that I have before me.” Oh **** off and join the GOP already. Who cares about filibusters. Just leave. Leave and go get gay-married to Lindsey Graham in Connecticut. [TPM Election Central]

I thought Palin was a bad pick because it took away McCain's best argument against Obama - that he was inexperienced. He didn't handle the financial crisis well - that's for sure. He could've done a lot better there. He was really slow to react to a very real situation. Sheesh though - if these post-election clips I'm hearing about Palin are true I am even less impressed with her than I was before - and I wasn't impressed with her before. I really hope she is not the new face of the Republican party.

yea and i love how he is blaming Palin. What a joke they didnt vett her enough so in the end its his team's fault. lol but I think Sept. 24 the day the market went down and he said everything was fine and his economic advisor said we where all babies was the day it was over for him. From the Convention till that Point the Dems where actually scared a bit the polls where looking in McCains favor and then bam the economy roared in.

Oh yeah - I just read the post of yours after the one about the Dems. That's sort of what I was getting at. I don't feel like McCain ran a very good campaign - so he has to shoulder the responsibility for the loss - but I don't think Bush did him any favors.

Erock I said in the post that whether or not it is all the Republicans faults can be debted - I'm only taking about the perception of the American voters. The (R) brand was severely tarnished over the course of the last 8 years and so McCain was running not only against Obama but essentially against his parties own President. That is a challenge!

David I have to tell you man - its really insulting to say that Americans who didn't vote for the guy you wanted are "the stupidest race on Earth" and "retarded." Look, its really simple - the Republicans were in charge of the White House and the Congress for 6 of the last 8 years. During that time things really went to heck. Whether or not that was the Republicans fault or not can be debated. But they were at the wheel when the ship took a bad turn - so they get the blame. What do you expect the American people to do when they are hurting? Vote for more pain? That would be stupid - in my opinion.

Also - just so you are aware - "American" is not a race - it is a nationality.
