Republican dipshit Michael Steele and his GOP butt-buddies are grasping for straws in trying to make a big deal out of silly comments dealing with race made by U.S. Senate Leader Harry Reid about President Obama.
To Steele and the brainless wonders known as Republicans simpleminded logic, the situation is as clear as black and white, when Republicans like former Mississippi Senator Trent Lott make a racial comment, as he did in 2002 when he publicly praised segregationist lawmaker Strom Thurmond, they are forced to apologize. But when a Democrat like Reid makes a racial comment, as he admits to in a newly published book describing Obama as "a light skinned African American with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one" he gets a free pass.
The retard-licans are simply playing politics and should know better but of course they're retard-licans so how could they! Yes, Reid's comments were racial, but they weren't racist, and there is a big difference.
Lott's comments were in praise of a segregationist senator who openly championed discriminatory policies for much of his public service career. DUH you FUCKFACE Retard-licans!!!
Reid's comments were in praise of Obama's quest to become the first black president of the United States. Yes, they were racial and the use of the word "Negro" and yes a bit unsettling, but Reid has been a chief supporter of Obama since the 2008 campaign began. Lott and Thurmond clearly didn't champion the black struggle!
It is like comparing apples and oranges!
Reid apologized to Obama and black political leaders as soon as his comments came to light. Lott, on the other hand, took days to offer a lame-ass explanation for his comments. Just to be on the safe side, it would probably be best for all involved if Reid were to stay far away from racial comments about the president for now on.
But for Steele and the Retard-lican Party to talk of a double-standard is simply bullshit and a clumsy attempt to make political hay out of some dumb comments.
These days you have to look beyond the racial comment to see who the real enemy is. And it ain't Harry Reid!
Funny how you conservative assholes think a goldman-sacs rich asshole with a 39% approval rating is somehow a referendum of Obama you dipshits are fucking dumber then I thought.
Now over in the 23rd in NY, this district hasn't been held a democrat since the fucking CIVIL WAR!!! So all the wingnuts came out in force and LOST!!!!!
Do you all remember how the wingnuts exploded in joy at the news that Chicago had been denied its bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Rather typically, our RedState pal Erick Erickson vomited, "So much for improving America’s standing in the world, Barry O. Maybe now perhaps we can hope he will mature a bit on the issues of foreign affairs. But I doubt it."
Well, now their heads are exploding at the news that President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Why do you assholes cut off your nose to spite your face? Do you hate Obama so much you want America to fail? Get a FUCKING GRIP Tinfoil Hat crazies!
David Frum spoke out this weekend about the reckless direction America's right-wing talk-show hosts are taking our national discourse, embodied by the nuts bringing guns to events featuring President Obama.
Frum: "Nobody has been hurt so far. We can all hope that nobody will be. But firearms and politics never mix well. They mix especially badly with a third ingredient: the increasingly angry tone of incitement being heard from right-of-center broadcasters.
The Nazi comparisons from Rush Limbaugh; broadcaster Mark Levin asserting that President Obama is "literally at war with the American people"; former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin claiming that the president was planning "death panels" to extirpate the aged and disabled; the charges that the president is a fascist, a socialist, a Marxist, an illegitimate Kenyan fraud, that he "harbors a deep resentment of America," that he feels a "deep-seated hatred of white people," that his government is preparing concentration camps, that it is operating snitch lines, that it is planning to wipe away American liberties": All this hysterical and provocative talk invites, incites, and prepares a prefabricated justification for violence."
Yed indeedy some conservative windsocks are lovingly anticipating just such an outcome. Frummy also notes that conservatives were very quick to attack a Homeland Security bulletin warning law-enforcement officers of a looming threat from right-wing extremists, only to have those warnings come all too true...OOPS!!!
This is in fact, is part of the bigger picture, the goofy ass teabaggers are being inflamed and openly encouraged to act irrationally and disruptively by Faux News and its rightwing windsock tinfoil hat assholes, specifically because they know that no matter how crazy they act, even bringing guns to events featuring the president, they will be actively defended for it, instead of exposed for the complete braindead fuckfaces they really are!!!
(ChattahBox)—A total of 20 advertisers have pulled their ads from Glenn Beck’s Fox News program, after the right-wing host denounced President Obama, as a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people” during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
The companies will continue to run ads on the Fox News channel, but requested that their ads not air during the controversial Glenn Beck show. After Beck’s use of racially charged hate language, the organization, ColorOfChange.org began a campaign to inform Beck’s advertisers of his statements, requesting that the companies stop supporting Beck’s hate speech by airing commercials for their products during his program.
The organization called Beck’s comments “…repulsive, divisive and shouldn’t be on the air.”
James Rucker, executive director of ColorOfChange.org, said he is “heartened” that so many companies heeded his organization’s call to cease supporting the Glenn Beck show. “Their action sends a clear a message to Glenn Beck: Broadcasters shouldn’t abuse the privilege they enjoy by spewing dangerous and racially charged hate language over the air. No matter their political affiliation, hate language doesn’t belong in our national dialogue,” said Rucker.
The advertisers dropping their ads from Beck’s show, include the nation’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart, ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, State Farm Insurance, Allergan, Ally Bank, Best Buy, Broadview Security, CVS, Re-Bath and Travelocity.
Read some of the statements from the advertisers fighting back against hate speech below:
Carolyn Castel, Vice President of Corporate Communications for CVS Caremark wrote, “We support vigorous debate, especially around policy issues that affect millions of Americans, but we expect it to be informed, inclusive and respectful, in keeping with our company’s core values and commitment to diversity.”
Rucker plans to continue with his organization’s campaign to see that as many of Beck’s advertisers pull their support as possible.”
Amanda Borichevsky, a spokesperson for Travelocity said in an email to ColorOfChange.org, “We buy ads in bulk and then they are placed somewhat randomly. However, we have now specifically asked that our ads do not appear during this show.”
Aziz Mottiwala, Senior Marketing Manager for Allergan wrote, “We reviewed our commercial schedule, and based on your feedback, we’ve put any programming featuring Glenn Beck on our “do not air” list.”
“Our advertising is not an endorsement of editorial content on any program. We have ceased to advertise on the Glenn Beck program,” said a customer care representative for Ally Bank.
The boycott of Glenn Beck's show, led by the group Color of Change, has resulted in some 20 advertisers dropping sponsorship of his "show" on the Fox News Channel. Fox is feeling the heat and it now appears that Beck's vacation this week wasn't voluntary!!
Bye Bye Glen Beck, you can't just say what you want and expect everyone to buy your bullshit!!
So in case you haven't heard, Katy Abram interviewed here by Lawrence O'Donnell as if she is 'aw, shucks' an average citizen who was just awakened to politics by the socialism of health care reform. Well it turns out she is actually a Glenn Beck 9-12 Organizer who has been involved/"interested" in politics since at least the GOP loss of the 2006 Congressional elections.
So much for grassroots!! This is an astro-turfer E-Cock the dumb-arian!! So suck on these nuts fuck face!!
Anyhoo why on earth these dipshit would go on TV with Lawrence O'Donell not knowing her ass from her elbow blows my mind!
Please conservatives I beg you, keep trotting out these hillbillies and see how far these braindead hayseeds get your party!
so I will tell you what I don't want is America turning into a country of fucking DUMB REDNECKS!!!
Here is a case of WTF??? Tax payers bail these assholes out and now they are going to pay the new CEO 7 million a YEAR??? Both parties, Hawk, Friday, David2008, and E-cock can all suck a fat dick!
American International Group Inc (AIG.N), the insurer that received billions of dollars in a U.S. bailout, said on Monday that it will pay newly-appointed Chief Executive Robert Benmosche an annual salary of $7 million.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, AIG said the salary would consist of $3 million in cash and $4 million in fully-vested common stock. He will also be eligible for a performance bonus of up to $3.5 million.
The pay has been approved in principle by Washington's new pay czar Kenneth Feinberg, said AIG.
E-cock and fellow republican idiots have always talked about Englands healthcare system like they had first hand knowledge of its workings. So when Britons heard all the bullshit and lies be vomited about their "cradle ot grave" healthcare system, they were shocked and PISSED OFF!!!
So E-COCK AND REPUBLI-TURDS perhaps before you claim to know about Englands Healthcare why not ASK the Brit's first!!!!! Wow what a novel idea, actually getting the facts first before making shit up!!!!!
Britons reacted with outrage Friday at American criticism of the country's health care system and defended their cradle-to-grave medical coverage on Twitter, television and in the tabloids.
Right-wing attacks on President Barack Obama's health reform plans have struck a nerve in Britain, where residents broadly take for granted their universal coverage under the state-funded National Health Service — and look askance at the millions of Americans without insurance.
"Land of the Fee," declared the Daily Mirror in reference to the United States' high-charging health model. The London newspaper called the "lies and distortions" being circulated in the United States about the National Health Service "truly sickening."
"Jaw droppingly untruthful," said the British Medical Association's chairman, Hamish Meldrum.
"NHS often makes the difference between pain and comfort, despair and hope, life and death," Prime Minister Gordon Brown tweeted. "Thanks for always being there."
Even British health campaigner Kate Spall — who criticizes NHS failings in U.S. television ads produced by Conservatives for Patients' Rights, a lobby group that opposes Obama's plans — declared that the group had misled her and was distorting her true views. Spall's mother died of kidney cancer while waiting for treatment.
"There are failings in the system but I'm not anti-NHS at all," Spall told the British Broadcasting Corp.
"I help the vulnerable patients in our country that come to me for help, those that have been denied treatment," she said. "So the irony is, the people that are falling through the net in the U.S. are patients that I would support anyway."
Britain's opposition Conservative Party is distancing itself from its maverick member of European Parliament, Daniel Hannan, who has criticized the NHS on U.S. news programs.
Conservative leader David Cameron dismissed Hannan as having "eccentric views."
In an e-mail to Conservative Party workers published on his blog, Cameron said millions, including his own family, were grateful for NHS-provided care.
"Just look at all the support which the NHS has received on Twitter over the last couple of days," he wrote. "It is a reminder — if one were needed — of how proud we in Britain are of the NHS."
The NHS, founded in 1948, is the cornerstone of the United Kingdom's welfare state.
About 12 percent of the UK's 61 million residents have private insurance, but the vast majority rely on state-funded emergency care, surgery and access to family doctors. Even those who complain about the system say they want it improved, not dismantled.
British officials acknowledge that their system has been struggling to cope and faces a 15 billion pound ($24 billion) deficit. Hospitals are often overcrowded, dirty and understaffed, which means some patients do not get the care they are promised.

The Service Employers International Union has vowed to help stand up against the GOP backed Astrobirthers who are being sent in to disrupt the town hall meetings of Democratic members of Congress. Since the union announced it's intentions, well-funded right wing groups and media outlets (see Fox News) have orchestrated call in campaigns accusing them of plotting violence against them -- one of the calls (audio and transcript in the video above) contained a not-so-veiled threat of armed violence:
One of the country's largest unions has been hit by a wave of hostile calls and even death threats from people upset with its involvement in town-hall health care debates.
The Service Employers International Union was, as one aide put it, "deluged" with calls on Friday after several conservative media outlets accused the organization of trying to assault demonstrators who had showed up to protest Obama's health care agenda. Making it even scarier for union employees, the address of the union's St. Louis headquarters was mentioned on air by conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
Callers who reached both the front desk and the communications department compared the union officials to Nazis, union aides say. On Twitter, organizers of the town hall protest urged people to take pictures and write down the license plate numbers of attending SEIU officials. More alarming than anything else, angry callers and protesters pledged to take up arms against the union. Read on...
I believe the time has come for Attorney General Eric Holder to get involved. Right wing violence is on the rise in America and the threat of bloodshed at the hands of a Fox News/GOP inspired extremist at one of these town hall meetings is real possibility!!
To the fuckfaces Palin, Hawk, Glenn Beck, Rush Limpballs, and Friday...Don’t talk to me about death panels!!!
"You, who so carelessly bolstered a lie about healthcare reform to score a cheap political point; you, the most craven of political opportunists, who fearmongers about some dystopian socialist/fascist fantasyland; you, who earlier this year were only too happy to accept free medical, dental and veterinary care from the U.S. military for Alaska’s remote villages; you, dear lady, are an idiot.
In your free market wonderland everyone somehow manages to get healthcare, even those who are poor or live in isolated areas, though the poor and isolated in your own state required assistance from the federal government.
And despite all of this, you appear blithely unaware that the free market healthcare system we have now does, indeed, have “death panels.” I’ve been part of a death panel conversation. I know about death panels.
You have no idea what it’s like to be called into a sterile conference room with a hospital administrator you’ve never met before and be told that your mother’s insurance policy will only pay for 30 days in ICU. You can't imagine what it's like to be advised that you need to “make some decisions,” like whether your mother should be released “HTD” which is hospital parlance for “home to die,” or if you want to pay out of pocket to keep her in the ICU another week. And when you ask how much that would cost you are given a number so impossibly large that you realize there really are no decisions to make. The decision has been made for you. "Living will" or no, it doesn't matter. The bank account and the insurance policy have trumped any legal document.
If this isn’t a “death panel” I don’t know what is"
So please explain this Sarah Palin!! You fucking JACKASS!!!!!
Rep. Weiner has challenged the Republicans to Put-Up or Shut-Up on Health Care by voting to end MEDICAID on it's 44th anniversary. So please Republicans vote to end Medicaid and then go back to your home town and explain to everyone how you voted to end the horrible Government run Healthcare program Medicaid and see how many get re-elected?
Please lets see how many have the fucking balls to put thier money where thier mouth is and vote to end Medicaid!!!
A resolution sponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, cites some of the singer's charitable acts and proclaims him an American legend, musical icon and world humanitarian. Yeah what a fucking waste of time!
1 month ago Jacko the Wacko was NOT selling albums and was a child molester and overall nutcase! tBut judging by the media coverage, you would of thought this boy lover was the fucking president or something. Look I believe that if you had no respect before you died, you should no respect when you die!
As much as it pains me, tinfoil hat wingnut Rep. Peter King was right!! We should honor our teachers, Policeman/women, and troops who ACTUALLY give something back to society!!
Lets remember Jackson didn't play music for Free!!!
the right wing hate talkers have stepped up their vitriolic attacks against anyone who doesn't agree with them or doesn't look like them. Through their demonization of liberals, Muslims, Hispanics, and gays, they've opened the door to a new era of intolerance and hate in this country.
And with that hate has come an increasing number of politically-based murders, murders which are becoming so frequent this year, that we haven't gone a solid month without some right wing nutjob pulling out a gun and killing people who didn't agree with their beliefs.
England had to ban one hate-monger Michael "weiner" Savage from thier country!!
Last Sunday on Fox News, Ohio Republican John Boehner raised a few eyebrows when he told host Chris Wallace that there hasn't been a single stimulus job started in his state:
In Ohio, the infrastructure dollars that were sent there months ago, there hasn’t been a contract let, to my knowledge. And the fact is I don’t believe it will create jobs.
John Boehner is either a fucking liar or he's totally clueless!! I am going with both!
When U.S. House Minority Leader shit-4-brains Boehner told a newscaster Sunday that not a single stimulus-funded road contract in his home state of Ohio had been let, he was dead ass wrong.
The Ohio Department of Transportation has OK'd 52 stimulus-funded road and bridge projects at a cost of nearly $84 million. 5...2....FIFTY-TWO!!! Which clearly is more than zero!
So in typical republican fashion, jackass Boehner released a statement to "clarify:" his bullshit.
"The entire process has been absurdly slow moving just as Republicans warned it would be when we called for an economic recovery bill based on fast-acting tax relief for small businesses and working families," Boehner said in a statement."
Well, he was close.....yeah right? He said zero, but the number was actually 52. I really fucking hate liars. But it's par for the course with today's GOP. They just make shit up as they go and hope that something sticks to the wall. Just look at any posts by Fuck-face Friday, the brainless wonder RD, or the kansas neanderthal Hawk!
Well, we've known for some time that Patrick Fitzgerald doesn't mess around. Just ask Rod Blagejovich and Scooter Libby. Yesterday rightwing wacko Hal Turner, Sean Insannity's domestic terrorist pal, got the same lesson!
“We take threats to federal judges very seriously. Period,” said Patrick J. Fitzgerald, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, who announced the charges with Robert D. Grant, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
CHICAGO - Hal Turner, an intermittent internet Conservative radio talk show host and blogger, was arrested today by FBI agents at his home in North Bergen, N.J., on a federal complaint filed in Chicago alleging that he made internet postings threatening to assault and murder three federal appeals court judges in Chicago in retaliation for their recent ruling upholding handgun bans in Chicago and a suburb.
Internet postings on June 2 and 3 proclaimed “outrage” over the June 2, 2009, handgun decision by Chief Judge Frank Easterbrook and Judges Richard Posner and William Bauer, of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, further stating, among other things: “Let me be the first to say this plainly: These Judges deserve to be killed.” The postings included photographs, phone numbers, work address and room numbers of these judges, along with a photo of the building in which they work and a map of its location.
Turner, 47, of North Bergen, N.J., was arrested this morning after FBI agents went to his residence to execute a search warrant. He was charged with threatening to assault and murder three federal judges with intent to retaliate against them for performing official duties in a criminal complaint filed today in U.S. District Court in Chicago. He is scheduled to have an initial court appearance at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael A. Shipp in U.S. District Court in Newark.
So we have free speeech, but just like you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater, you clearly cannot call for the death of Federal Judges who are performing their fucking JOBS!!!
WTF is going on with the already shitty and unpopular Republican/Conservative Party. Last week Sen. Ensign a member of the family values clan admitted to being an adulter, now you have stimulus package loser conservative asshole Gov. Sanford of South Carolina going on a trip to Argentina to get his pecker sucked!!! WOW, I am beside myself as another conservative bites the dust!!!
Gov. Mark Sanford told a newspaper he was in Argentina, not hiking the Appalachian Trail as his staff had told the public to explain his sudden absence. He said he "wanted to do something exotic" to unwind after losing a fight over federal stimulus money. Yeah Sanford, by exotic, you mean get some latin ass!!
Hollywood couldn't script this shit any better!!! So now in 2012 there is one less jack-off Conservative to worry about!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jessica Cutler, the former Republican Senate aide who posted details of her sex life on the Internet. The case brought by REPUBLICAN Sen. Mike DeWine's former counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Robert Steinbuch, alleges that Cutler engaged in an invasion of his privacy in 2004 by publishing sexually explicit facts about a relationship with Steinbuch.
Republican Otis O'Neal Horsley is an American political figure of the far REPUBLICAN right. He is the author of christiangallery.com, a website devoted to his advocacy of militant anti-abortion, secessionist, and anti-gay views. On May 09, 2005, Horsley was a guest on The Alan Colmes Show, a FOX News radio program. The topic was an interesting one - whether or not an internet service provider should allow Horsley to post the names of abortion doctors on his website. Horsley does that as a way of targeting them and one doctor has been killed. In the course of the interview, however, Colmes asked Neal Horsley about his background, including a statement that he had admitted to engaging in homosexual and bestiality sex, including having sex with a MULE!

Republican Lou Beres denied sexual-molestation allegations when the Oregonian newspaper first reported them in October. Beres acknowledged sexually touching a 16- or 17-year-old friend of his daughter in 1976 or 1977. But a local Police Department report released as part of a lawsuit said Beres "readily admitted sexually touching" one girl when she was 13 or 14 years old.
The longtime leader of the Oregon Christian Coalition and staunch opponent of gay rights, admits in a newly released police report that he sexually touched three underage girls.
Serial killer/rapist Ted Bundy campaigned for the Republican Party.
Retard-lican jerkoff Sen. John Ensign of Nevada has stepped down from his leadership post one day after admitting he carried on a marital affair with a woman who was on his campaign staff.
Ensign conveyed his decision in a phone call with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who said he had accepted the resignation.
Ensign was chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, the fourth-ranking spot in the leadership.
He remained away from the Capitol during the day, and aides declined to answer additional questions about the affair.
A timeline issued Tuesday said Ensign was involved in a "consensual affair" from December, 2007 through August, 2008. There has been no indication of why the senator decided to announce his infidelity when he did.
Well I have a thought.....ANOTHER REPUBLICAN HYPOCRITE SCUMBAG GONE!!! Just another opening for another DEMOCRAT!!! Damn it must suck to be republican!!
While the religious idiots claim America was founded by christians, they were not. America was founded in secularism as a beacon of 18th century enlightenment. Read your history dipshits! Sadly it is becoming the victim of religious politics, something that would have horrified the founding fathers.
The wacko rightwing and the ever shrinking republican party, value embryonic cells over adult people. It obsesses about gay marriage, ahead of genuinely important issues that actually make a difference to the world. It is now left with only the electoral support from a religious constituency whose grip on reality is so tenuous that they expect to be 'raptured' up to heaven, leaving their clothes as empty as their minds.
More extreme nutjobs like Hawk, Trish, or Sarah Palin, actually long for a world war, which they identify as the 'Armageddon' that is to presage the Second Coming!!! To these clowns, scientific evidence has no bearing on theological questions.
My question is this, either Jesus had a father or he didn't. The question is a scientific one, and scientific evidence, if any were available, would be used to settle it. The same is true of any miracle and the deliberate and intentional creation of the universe would have to have been the mother and father of all miracles. Either it happened or it didn't.
We can clearly explain our existence by a combination of the anthropic principle and Darwin's principle of natural selection. That combination provides a complete and deeply satisfying explanation for everything that we see and know. Not only is the god hypothesis unnecessary. It is spectacularly unparsimonious.
So we need NO God to explain the universe and life! God stands out in the universe as the most glaring of all superfluous sore thumbs. We cannot, of course, disprove God, just as we can't disprove Zeus, Thor, fairies, leprechauns and bigfoot.
But, like those other fantasies that we can't disprove, we can without question, say that God is very very improbable.
It seems that the Anti-abortion wacko's will do anything to impose their views on law aibding doctors. I thought Trish and the other Anti-abortion crowd yells "ALL LIFE IS PRECIOUS"! Well is it?
This just proves to me that insanity and rightwing hate ideology are serious problems for this country.
Dr. Tiller, the latest doctor killed by the fucking insane anti-abortion crowd. Tiller, 67, was serving as an usher during morning services Sunday when he was shot in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church, police said. The gunman fired one shot at Tiller and threatened two other people who tried to stop him.
The suspect, identified by one law enforcement agency as Scott Roeder, was taken into custody some 170 miles away in a Kansas City suburb about three hours after the shooting.
The U.S. Marshals Service said that as a result of Tiller's shooting, Attorney General Eric Holder had ordered it to "increase security for a number of individuals and facilities" in the country. Jeff Carter, U.S. Marshals spokesman, said he could not disclose details.
You idiots foam at the mouth abouth the bible, well the bible says THOU SHALL NOT KILL, period, no exceptions! I can't wait to hear the comments from the Anti-abortion crew like Trish, retard Hawk, and others.
11) Because the party is STILL talking about 2008 bullshit like Obamas Birth Certificate!
10) Found walking upright and breathing through nose so refreshing, we decided to do it permanently.
9) "Supermajority" sounds so bitchin'.
8) Constant whining about religious persecution got on our last goddamned nerve.
7) Tired of consoling drunk, sobbing Newt Gingrich at 3am about the future of the Republican party.
6) Was only using conservatism for the tax cuts.
5) Wanted to join a party that would support our fetish for having a dominatrix bash our groin with a gavel while reading dirty-sounding words from Robert's Rules of Order.
4) Couldn't shake the feeling we were being watched when using the GOP men's room.
3) Three words: Palin in 2012.
2) Obama is just so dreamy.
1) Have you listened to those assholes Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Fixed News, Boss Limbaugh, Hawk, MM, David2008, and Jamescart?
Former Vice President Dick Cheney's defense Thursday of the Bush administration's policies for interrogating suspected terrorists contained omissions, exaggerations and misstatements.
Cheney quoted the Director of National Intelligence, Adm. Dennis Blair , as saying that the information gave U.S. officials a "deeper understanding of the al Qaida organization that was attacking this country."
BULLSHIT, because what Blair said was, "the information "was valuable in some instances" but that "there is no way of knowing whether the same information could have been obtained through other means. The bottom line is that these techniques hurt our image around the world, the damage they have done to our interests far outweighed whatever benefit they gave us and they are not essential to our national security." Oops!! Damn Cheney have you ever heard of "GOOGLE", you jackass!
A top secret 2004 CIA inspector general's investigation found "NO conclusive proof that information gained from aggressive interrogations helped thwart any "specific imminent attacks," according to one of four top-secret Bush-era memos that the Justice Department released last month. You don't say?
FBI Director Mueller Robert Muller told Vanity Fair magazine in December that he didn't think that the techniques disrupted any attacks. READ THAT RD AND HAWK, you conservative dickheads!
Cheney also said that President Barack Obama's decision to release the four top-secret Bush administration memos on the interrogation techniques was "flatly contrary" to U.S. national security, and would help al Qaida train terrorists in how to resist U.S. interrogations.
Bullshit AGAIN!!! Because Blair, who oversees all 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, said in his statement that he recommended the release of the memos, "strongly supported" Obama's decision to prohibit using the controversial methods and that "we do not need these techniques to keep America safe." Damn it feels good shutting you conservatives assholes down with facts!!!
Cheney said that the Bush administration "moved decisively against the terrorists in their hideouts and their sanctuaries, and committed to using every asset to take down their networks."
BULLSHIT, what Darth Cheney didn't point out that Osama bin Laden and his chief lieutenant, Ayman al Zawahri , remain at large nearly eight years after 9-11 and that the Bush administration began diverting U.S. forces, intelligence assets, time and money to planning an invasion of Iraq before it finished the war in Afghanistan against al Qaida and the Taliban.
and lastly, Cheney slammed Obama's decision to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp and criticized his effort to persuade other countries to accept some of the detainees.
Yet the effort to shut down the facility, however, began during Bush's second term, promoted by Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
In other words Dick Cheney is FULL OF SHIT, just as RD, HAWK, MM, and the other brainless conservatives are...FULL OF SHIT and devoid of FACTS!!!
Of course no ones knows better about what can get you kicked out of your speakership, than the hypocrite Gingrich. Back in 1998, Gingrich wanted President Clinton impeached for his adultry, while NEWT was doing THE SAME FUCKING THING!!!
Gingrich is a man who has been totally disgraced for his past behavior, including ethics violations, as Speaker of the House now is constantly being given a platform to slime and smear any victim of his choosing freely. Nancy Pelosi is his newest target and he's been vicious in his attacks on her.
Newt, a man divorced many times over, just became a Catholic (a faith that frowns upon divorce) and got booted out of his Speaker's job because the American people hated his tactics. Yet he has the nerve to say Pelosi committed some unforgivable sin by saying the CIA lied, and that she should lose her leadership position. Being a Catholic now (I still consider myself one, but not very strict), who is he to point fingers at others when he himself has sinned so much?
He called her a liar among other smears yesterday on ABC radio, and then appeared on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer and went one step further.
But when Sawyer brought up the fact that in 2008, Republican Sen. Peter Hoekstra similarly declared that the CIA lies to Congress, why didn't Newt demand that he be repudiated also? Newt practices the kind of hypocrisy he knows all too well.
Sawyer: Hoekstra: "We cannot have an intelligence community that covers up what it has been doing and then lies to Congress." That's a Republican saying it. And they're saying, where were you then, you didn't call for him to resign?
Gingrich: Well, I think in that particular argument he's fighting with them over a report he wants about a year and a half ago, but I've had a similar standard of toughness with Republicans on other issues.
Again Conserva-turds think this is 1990's, GOOGLE YOU DUMBASS!!! Newt...Can you not see the FUCKING HYPOCRISY!!!!!!
Glenn Beck went on the air on his radio program and described an encounter he had on an Amtrak train with Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg. It was, like so much of Beck's schtick, a (ahem) highly exaggerated account intended to (a) make Beck look good, and (b) make a point about those awful librul media elites or something.
Actually, much of it was outright fabrication. And they called him on it when they hosted him on The View this morning. Beck keeps smiling and laughing, but his backside is nailed to the wall, and it's hilarious to see him squirm.
You really should watch it for yourselves. But suffice to say, "Glenn Beck" and "lying sack of dog mess" are now two phrases that will be permanently intertwined.
So maybe the next time they have Beck on, they should ask him about his bizarre fantasies about having sex with his sister. That might be even more fun!!!
Do Conserva-turds not realize that people use GOOGLE!!!!!! WTF???? You can't just make shit up and expect no one to find out!!!!
From the May 18 edition of Talk Radio Network's The Savage Nation:
SAVAGE: And yet here in America, I've had some people come to my aid. They see the bigger picture. They're not like [Bill] O'Reilly; they're not like Limbaugh, who's the biggest disappointment of all. Limbaugh has turned out to be the biggest phony of all of them, all of them. Amongst all of them, he is the biggest fraud. Rush Limbaugh is a fraud. When he was accused of the drug usage, I supported him. But that man is a one-way street. It's all about him. He's in it for nobody but himself.
Talk about a big pay-per-view gate. Let's see a head on fight between the Savage Nation and the Dittoheads in the Thunderdome!!!
I love it, a fellow wacko tingfoil hat conserva-turd bashing another wacko tinfoil hat conserva-turd!!! This is priceless!!
As I like to do sometimes, I browsed the insane rightwing website World Net Daily, and even to my surprise the headline read "Girl Scouts exposed: Lessons in lesbianism", I mean even the girl scouts aren't above the tinfoil hat crazies! and they call Liberals wierd?
Of course they have the tired ass Bill Ayers, Obama and jews, and other Christian garbage. So I wanted to show the reality of the fucking INSANE rightwing batshit crazy republicans.
Now take a stroll over to daily kos and you will find reality based current events, such as torture and posts by REAL reporters such as John Meacham of Newsweek and Jeffery Toobin of CNN.
But look at world net daily and you won't find ONE crediable reporter from any real news outlet! This is the same asshole who wrote the Swift Boat attacks against John Kerry and the pile of dogshit book on Obama, which didn't do anything but help Obama win 65% of the vote!
So Republicans if you ever want to get back into power you MUST drop these Zero's and find some reality based, open-mined, non mexican hating, non pat robertson wacky christian, gay bashing candidate, and getting info from stupid website like WND, and you just might win an election!!!
George W. Bush's second term has witnessed the great unraveling of the Republican coalition. After nearly two generations of political dominance, the Republican coalition rapidly disintegrated under the stress of Bush's failures and the Republicans' scandals and disgrace. Now the Democrats have won and now have the chance to make America great again. But Democrats should should pay strict attention to how Bush has swiftly undone Republican strengths as an object lesson of which idiots to avoid and what not to do!
Karl Rove believed he could engineer a political realignment by recreating his work in Texas where he marshaled money and focused campaign technology in order to destroy the Democrats. But the analogy of the nation as Texas writ large was faulty from the start. In Texas he had the wind at his back, regardless of how elaborate and clever his machinations. The transformation of Texas in the 1980s and 1990s into a Republican state was a delayed version of Southern realignment. Yet Rove came to Washington believing that the example of Texas could be transferred to the national level. How did that work for ya Karl?
The cataclysm has consumed Rove's theory, his president, his party, and prospects for a Republican majority. The Republicans will take years if not decades to recreate their party, but that project would have to be on a wholly different basis.
Anyhoo, I for one was laughing my ass' off in Nov 2006 when Retard-licans lost Congress and was on cloud 9 when Barack Hussain Obama won the White House with 62% of the votes! So enjoy your time lost in the wilderness Retard-licans, your time away from power is just what the doctor ordered. I hope to never see your party in power...EVER!
Britain on Tuesday published its first list of people barred from entering the country for allegedly fostering extremism or hatred, including Muslim extremists, a right-wing American radio host, an Israeli settler and jailed Russian gang members.
The U.K.'s law and order chief, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, said she decided to publish the names of 16 of 22 people who have been banned by the government since October so others could better understand what sort of behavior Britain was not prepared to tolerate.
Popular American talk-radio host, Michael Savage, who broadcasts from San Francisco and has called the Muslim holy book, the Quran, a "book of hate," is on the list. Savage also has enraged parents of children with autism by saying in most cases it's "a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out."
It's their country, so you'd think a conservative like Savage would leave the choice up to them, because they are taking personal responsibility for their own welfare, right? Isn't that what he preaches? Anyway. I don't agree with them, but when he asks Hillary Clinton for help, well, that's insane.
Michael Savage, who has since expressed his outrage at the decision. “It is demented,” Savage said. “I want my name off of that list and I want a letter of apology from this [British Home Secretary] Jacqui Smith.” Now it appears that Savage is seeking help from an old nemesis: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The San Fransisco Chronicle’s Rich Lieberman reports that “[l]awyers for Savage are formally asking [that] she call on the British Government to withdraw its ban.” It’s interesting that Savage is now turning to Clinton for help, considering what he has had to say about her in the past. Some examples:
– “Hillary Clinton, the most Godless woman in the Senate.”
– Regarding one of Clinton’s speeches: “That’s rubbish. That’s Hitler dialogue. Goebbels would be proud of you, Hillary Clinton. I know Mao Zedong would have been proud of you.”
– “[Clinton has] destroyed the war effort against terror. And if, God forbid, a suitcase bomb goes off you’ll know who to blame.”
– On Clinton’s run for the presidency: “[She would] stir up a race war, a civil war in the country to get that hag, that harridan elected.”
Savage also once suggested that Clinton had something to do with the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. so she could run for U.S. Senate in New York.
Nice going Jackass!! The venom directed at Hillary from wingnuts like Savage is despicable, but I do find it ironic now that he's actually asking her to intervene on his behalf. How miserable does it make him feel that he has to seek out Hillary for help. Hahahahahahaha
Documents obtained by Teablogging, which were found by running a goddamned simple Nexis search on the internet, national Tea Party organizer, Top Conservaturd on Twitter cofounder and TCOTReport.com publisher Michael P. Leahy has, over the past 16 years, amassed nearly $150,000 in state and federal tax liens, small claims court judgments and civil suits.
Teablogging has .pdfs of all the documentation. My own impression looking them over is that Mike thinks the rules are for everyone else. Why protest taxes if you think you're not required to pay 'em in the first place, you JACKASS!
Ask a governor if she'd be happy with a 54% approval and a negative rating of 42%, she'd probably laugh at the question. It usually doesn't get much better than that. Well that is where the disaster that is Palin now finds herself. At one time she held an 80% approval and 9% negative ratings, for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, that represents a hefty drop.
Since John McCain tapped the first-term governor to be his vice-presidential running mate, Palin's sky-high home-state approval ratings have come down to Earth.
Above 80% approval for parts of her term, she was at 82% in a key local poll twice this year, Palin's popularity has swooned as new information about the local abuse of power investigation known as troopergate has trickled out, and as national and local media pick over her track record as a governor and small-town mayor.
Palin still has overwhelming support among Alaska Republicans. But many Democrats and independents, who gave her positive marks just a month ago, have changed their view.
"My problem is not with Sarah Palin the governor," said Ron Zandman-Zeman, 60, a recently retired schoolteacher from Anchorage. "She was doing the job she was elected to do. I don't think she can do the job she wants to be elected to do. And that's why I'm here."
"Here" was a rally in a downtown Anchorage park this past weekend, where several hundred demonstrators gathered under a brilliant blue sky to protest Palin and her attorney general, mostly for their handling of the troopergate controversy.
Palin built a reservoir of goodwill over a handful of key issues, including prodding the state's oil industry to cough up more of its profits, which fund the vast majority of state operations.
After McCain shocked the political world by picking Palin, the rest of the country experienced a flash of infatuation with the charming, gutsy governor. But some Alaskans turned against what they saw as her newly aggressive, mean-spirited demeanor.
At the studio of KENI in Anchorage, Andrew Halcro has become a focal point for anti-Palin advocates. Halcro is a former state legislator who was beaten by Palin in the 2006 gubernatorial election. (Running as an independent, Halcro finished third behind Palin and former Gov. Tony Knowles, a Democrat).
But he's also a Republican. He has been disillusioned with Palin for, among other things, her handling of the troopergate issue. For the past month, he's been hosting a daily talk radio show.
At first, callers were defensive on Palin's and Alaska's behalf — particularly as the national media and left-wing blogs published information about the governor's family and questioned her record in office.
"It was uncomfortable to even talk about a story in the morning paper," he said. "People would say, 'You need to move on.'"
Palin had done a good job of governing from the center, he said. But her recent mocking of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, for example, is a surprise to many Alaskans.
"I see a real change in the callers," he said. "People are seeing Gov. Palin in a different light."
But he still considers her out of her league on the national scene. On Saturday, he held a sign near a street corner as cars whizzed by, drivers honking in support of the demonstrators.
His sign read: "Palin — A Good Gov in Way Over Her Head."
While many demonstrators objected to Palin on partisan or ideological grounds, two issues that clearly rankled Alaskans had nothing to do with party loyalty: openness and independence.
Ivan Moore, a local pollster who works with both Democrats and Republicans, recently found that Palin's support had slipped to 54%. Inside those numbers was a dramatic drop in support from Democrats and independents, although support from Republicans remained strong at 93 percent. Among Democrats, her approval rating dropped from 60 percent to 36 percent, a 24-point drop. Among independents, it fell from 82 percent to 64 percent, an 18-point drop.
Moore said those numbers were likely driven by the harsher tone Palin has adopted on the national campaign trail, as well as the fallout from troopergate.
Palin's lost many supporters because she's worked to thwart a bipartisan inquiry into troopergate after saying she'd cooperate. (Troopergate involves the firing of the state's public safety commissioner, who'd refused to fire a state trooper who'd been involved in a messy divorce with Palin's sister).
In addition, fiercely independent Alaskans resent moves by the McCain campaign to control what they see as purely state matters.
Sondra Tompkins, a reliably Republican voter, found herself speaking out at the rally, upset, she said, because of Palin's handling of the trooper issue and the example it sets for children in the state.
"They're listening, they're watching, and they're asking questions," Tompkins called out to the crowd. "Do we tell them it's OK not to tell the truth? Do we tell them it's OK to bend the truth? Do we tell them it's OK to distort the truth if you have a gaggle of lawyers to defend you?
"It's not OK, and I think Alaskans have had enough."
Brad Coker, managing director of Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., said an approval rating in the 50's for a governor is not good. His recent polling in six western states found two governors with approval ratings in the low-80s, two in the 60s and one(now 2) in the 50s.
The sky-high ratings Palin once had are somewhat unusual, he said but not unheard of.
"Governors in smaller states tend to have much higher performance ratings because their constituencies are smaller," he said. "They have personal contact with the voters and so there is more familiarity between them and the constituents. But 68 percent is pretty good."
So much for the "chosen" one Palin, her dumb ass needs to do what she does best, bumble through interviews, kill defenseless animals, and wait for the end of days!
Here is a nice rundown of the disastrous first one hundred days of the new boss of the RNC, Michael Steele..
Countless media outlets are paying close attention to the benchmark of President Obama's 100th day in office. Not as many are focusing on the first 100 days of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
Steele was elected Chair of the RNC on Friday, January 30, ten days after President Obama was sworn in. The 100 day mark will be on May 9. While it's 10 days early, I thought today would be a good time to reflect on the highlights of RNC Chair Michael Steele's first 100 days...read on
Check out the timeline of failure for Steele.
Great job Steele...You be da man alright....a stupid fucking asshole republican!!
One of the main takeaways from the phony controversy over the DHS' bulletin on right-wing extremism was the self-revealing way that mainstream conservatives attempted to obliterate from public view the very real existence of the ongoing threat to their well-being from right-wing extremists.
Why the frantic effort to obscure this reality? Because they know the ideological and associative distance between far-right extremists and mainstream conservatives has shrunk dramatically over the past 10 years. They dread the consequences of what will happen when the real ugliness starts to break out.
The Ugly Storm has been gathering for awhile. We've been reporting regularly on the increasing activities of far-right extremists, particularly the anti-Obama racism rampant throughout much of this contingent. Of course, it doesn't help when mainstream conservative media are fanning those flames, either. And it seems like it's getting close to an outright explosion.
Max Blumenthal went to a gun show in California and emerged with the above video and the following report:
Fueled by the screeds of radio hosts Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, and the lesser-known but increasingly influential online conspiracist Alex Jones, many gun-show attendees I spoke to were convinced Obama planned to usher in a Marxist dictatorship. They warned that the president’s power grab would only begin with mass gun seizures. “If Obama takes away our guns,” a young, .45 pistol-toting man from Reno told me, “it’s just a step into trying to take away everything else.”
Indeed, in their minds, average Americans opposed to the Obama agenda would be herded into FEMA-run concentration camps by a volunteer army of glassy-eyed liberal college graduates. “When they start imprisoning Americans, and people start seeing that we’re the enemy, then that’ll make it hot,” predicted one Antioch-based young man sporting a button for former Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul. “People talk about a revolution,” the young man continued, “an armed revolution. I think police crackdowns on individuals will tip the scales.”
More than a few gun dealers and attendees echoed the young man’s seeming enthusiasm for armed revolt. One Contra Costa, California-based gun dealer named Rich predicted during an otherwise casual off-camera conversation that “some nut” would assassinate Obama within one year of any Democratic attempt at gun-control legislation. While the prospect of organized right-wing violence against the federal government seems far-fetched at this point, the paranoid rhetoric I documented suggests the militia movement that organized against President Bill Clinton’s policies during the 1990s could experience a dramatic resurgence by mobilizing resentment against Obama.
The gun-show crowd is more the "Patriot" contingent of far-right extremism: obsessed with guns and conspiracy theories, yet capable of paranoid bursts of extreme violence by "lone wolf" actors.
Yet we're also seeing a similar upsurge in outright white-supremacist organizations
It's the new political correctness, I gather, not to ever suggest that anyone who's ever served in the military is ever capable posing a threat to law-enforcement officers or the general public. That was the whole upshot of the recent fake controversy over the DHS report on domestic terrorism.
In the meantime, what do you know: Yet another shooting of police officers by an angry and paranoid man with a military background. And just like the last one, this one believed Obama was going to come get his guns:
On Sunday, lawmen still were investigating why Joshua Cartwright, a 28-year-old U.S. Army Reserve soldier with a history of violence, killed Okaloosa County sheriff's deputies Burt Lopez and Warren "Skip" York at a gun range in Crestview.
A few minutes after he killed the deputies, Cartwright was himself killed in a shootout with lawmen in DeFuniak Springs.
"None of it's logical, none of it makes sense," said interim Sheriff Ed Spooner on Sunday. "He'd obviously just got something else in his mind."
An offense report filed against Cartwright the day he died outlines an angry husband who threatened his wife, kept guns and knives on hand, was "severely disturbed" that Barack Obama had been elected president, and believed the U.S. government was conspiring against him.
Here's the incident report. Towards the end, this observation is included:
While we were waiting Cartwright told me that her husband believed the U.S. Government was conspiring against him. She said he had been severely disturbed that Barack Obama had been elected President! Yeah like Glenn Bek and Sean Insanity!
Just because some wacked out right winger with military service goes batshit crazy over Obama doesn't mean all right wing military guys are crazy, it is just a fact that some of them are!!!
In the latest Pew Research Poll, FOX News tops all networks by a huge margin as being too critical of the president. WOW, whudda thunk that?
When Americans are asked to assess television news coverage of Barack Obama, Fox News Channel stands out from other networks for being too critical of the president. Nearly three-in-ten (29%) select Fox when asked which of six broadcast and cable news networks have been too critical of the new Democratic president, a far greater share than any other network. In contrast, no one TV network is singled out for being too easy on Obama.
It's good to know that many Americans see right through the bullshit of Roger Ailes and the home network he's developed for the GOP. Obviously the word "critical" has a different meaning to FOX than it does to most of us. Most news outlets will criticize they way a certain policy the Obama administration proposes, but FOX spreads lies and smears. At least Americans now understand what FOX is up to.
So, how well-liked do you think Rush Limbaugh is? Shane Murphy, who was kidnapped by the Somalian Pirates, isn't one of his fans:
Shane Murphy, the second-in-command aboard the American merchant ship seized by pirates, lashed out at Rush Limbaugh for the talk show host's racial characterization in discussing the rescue of the ship's captain by the Navy.
Murphy, who returned to his Seekonk, Mass., home Friday, called Limbaugh a purveyor of "hate speech."
In commenting on the rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips by the Navy Seals who shot and killed the three Somali pirates who were holding him captive, Limbaugh generated controversy when he called the pirates "black teenagers."
"There you have it, three teenagers shot on the high seas at the order of President Obama," said Limbaugh according to a transcript of an April 14 broadcast on his Web site.
"Just imagine the hue and cry had a Republican president ordered the shooting of black teenagers on the high seas," Limbaugh said.
Murphy said Limbaugh's remarks were unacceptable.
"It feels great to be home," Murphy said. "With the exception of Rush Limbaugh who is trying to make this into a race issue. It's disgusting."
"The president did the right thing. It's a war. It's about good versus evil. And what you (Limbaugh) said is evil, that is hate speech. I won't tolerate it," Murphy said.
Good for Shane, because what Limbaugh said was disgusting. But then, that's what we long ago learned to expect from RushBo
So much for Kemp's total bullshit view that Republicans were "coming back", this just in....."In trying to win the NY-20 special election, the RNC, NRCC, and their Republican allies went all in on the losing gamble that voters would prefer their 'just say no' approach to President Obama's bold plans to get the economy back on track.
Scott Murphy's victory in this district where Republicans outnumber Democrats by more than 70,000 represents a rejection of the obstructionist agenda and scare tactics that have become the hallmark of House Republicans.
With his commitment to reaching across the aisle to help President Obama enact his agenda for change, Scott Murphy will be a tremendous asset to our Democratic Caucus."
So perhaps you'll Republican losers better realize that people like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Boss Limpballs are they kind of people of the kind of rhetoric that will win you any ELECTIONS! But please keep up the good Republicans!!! Keep idiots like MM, RD, Hawk, and Friday foaming about socialist and how Obama is ruining the country, besides the fact that Obama has an over 60% approval rating and republicans have 30% approval!
Republicans had better change direction or you assholes will be in the political wilderness for a very long time.
Keith Olbermann offers Sean Hannity $1000 for every second he can endure waterboarding. Lawrence O'Donnell weighs in on why someone like Hannity would offer to be waterboarded in the first place. Please Sean "Chickenhawk" Hannity, grows some fucking balls and take this bet! So all these wacko Conservatives you are and how waterboarding isn't torture!
Olbermann: You'll do it for charity? For the troops families? I'll take you up on that Sean. For every second you last, $1000. Live or on tape provided other networks cameras are there. $1000 a second Sean because this is no game. This is serious stuff. Put your money where your mouth is, and your nose. And I'll double it when you admit you feared for your life. When you admit the horrible truth. Waterboarding, a symbol of the last administration, is torture.
Lawrence O'Donnell: The reason Sean Hannity thinks torture is a good idea. The reason Sean Hannity thinks it works is because it would work on him. There are two different kinds of people out there in the world. The warriors which are a very, very tiny minority, less than 1% of our population is ever going to face combat and then there's the rest of us.
I am like Sean Hannity, one of those cowards, just like Dick Cheney who has refused throughout my life to enter the military and ever subject myself to anything dangerous occupationally where I might lose a tooth. That is exactly Sean Hannity's approach to life and he has exactly the same cowardly fear that I do of combat or submitting myself to anything of the kind of risk the American military does. And so people who live where Sean Hannity lives and those safe places and the safe Cheney home where no one in the Cheney family would ever submit themselves to military service, ever submit themselves to the risk of torture. They think torture works because it would work on them.
Because they are soft. They are weak people compared to our military service people and they would crack under torture. But al Qaeda, people who have devoted their lives to destroying their enemy, the people are willing to die in their exercises, they were all willing to die on 9-11. Sean Hannity thinks torture is going to work on them because he has never, never known the kind of commitment that those people have and nothing he's done in his life measures that kind of commitment that the American military has or that our enemies have. Our enemies are more committed than Sean Hannity will ever be.
It is easy to say what is and is not torture if you have never served a second in the military or put your life on the line, so Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and hoardes of Chickenhawk Republicans, let yourself be waterboarded and then tell us if you still feel the same way!
Wow!! Whudda thunk, with assholes like RD, FRIDAY, Mdummy, David2008, and douchebag Hawk, and their Obama is the devil, fascist, communist, bringer of all evil, Americans JUST DON'T BUY YOUR BULLSHIT!!!!
For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the public's mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future.
Intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, Americans nonetheless appear realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll. It shows most Americans consider their new president to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.
Nobody knows how long the honeymoon will last, but Obama has clearly transformed the yes-we-can spirit of his candidacy into a tool of governance. His ability to inspire confidence, Obama's second book is titled "The Audacity of Hope" has thus far buffered the president against the harsh political realities of two wars, a global economic meltdown and countless domestic challenges.
"He presents a very positive outlook," said Cheryl Wetherington, 35, an independent voter who runs a chocolate shop in Gardner, Kan. "He's very well-spoken and very vocal about what direction should be taken."
the percentage of Americans saying the country is headed in the right direction rose to 48%, up from 40% in February. 44% say the nation is on the wrong track.
Not since January 2004, shortly after the capture of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, has an AP survey found more "right direction" than "wrong direction" respondents.
So far, Obama has defied the odds by producing a sustained trend toward optimism. It began with his election.
So you jackasses are going to have to find something else because calling Obama a socialist, communist, fascist, gun taker, un-american, AIN'T PASSSING THE BULLSHIT TEST!!!
From old Rumsfeld, to Tom DeLay, from "Scooter" Libby who was convicted, to the idiot Michael "you're doing a heck of a job" Brown, from Newt Gingrich disgraced himself, to the always clueless Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, conservative administrations show why they should not be allowed to govern. When their ethos is "government is bad, how in hell can they make it good?"
Why such a gang of dunces? From the National Review which wrote "Can't Anyone Here Play this Game?" To Time Magazine which bravely put conservative dunce Ronald Reagan on its cover, stating "How the Right Went Wrong." It's not simply incompetence or corruption, although from Nixon, Reagan, and GW Bush there was plenty of both, it seems conservative administrations cannot run government.
Goofy Reagan was right at home with the stupid follies and crimes. Remember Reagan's AG Edwin Meese, he was disgraced. His national security advisor copped a plea. Oliver North stood convicted. His defense secretary, Caspar Weinberger, would have been indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice if the Elder Bush hadn't issued a preemptive pardon!
So what is it about conservative administrations that lead them into disgrace and indictment? Incompetence isn't at the core of these scandals, the simple truth is ideology, period.
From Nixon to Reagan to Bush, they have all believed in the imperial presidency. They assume that in the area of the national security, the president operates above the law, or as Nixon put it, "When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." They always operate behind a shield of secrecy and executive privilege, with utter contempt for the law.
Reagan spurned the Congress when it cut off funds for his retarded covert war on little Nicaragua. And Bush trampled the laws to set up the torture camps in Abu Ghraib, Gitmo and blacksite all over the place. Each sought to keep their lawlessness secret and that would foster lies, obstruction of justice and ultimately disgrace.
So while Karl Rove, Jay Bybee, John Yoo, and other Bush henchmen scurry for cover like roaches, this much is fact, the phrase "conservative misrule" is a redundancy. Because the two words mean exactly the same thing.
On CNN Sunday morning, right wing talking head Michael Smerconish revealed the mind of a Fox News producer when he was approached to go on the air with Neil Cavuto.
Fox News obviously is the worst, but this is something endemic to the entire industry. News is supposed to be news. Having two different points of views, no matter how myopic and slanted one of those sides might be, is the networks' idea of presenting "balance". All it really does is set up antagonistic debate as entertainment, which they then try to justify by claiming that it is news. Well, folks, that hurts the country.
KURTZ: Well, we'll try not to make this interview torture, even though you're tolerant of it. Let's talk about cable news and the way the booking process works. This was just fascinating to me. You have e-mails in this book from a producer who works for Neil Cavuto and his Fox News program. And let me put it up on the screen and share this with our viewers.
The first e-mail, this was last April, just about a year ago.
"Wanted to see if you're available today at 4:05 for Neil's show today. The topic is on Obama and his cockiness. We're looking for someone who will say, yes, he's cocky and his cockiness will hurt him."
And I love your rather brief response. You wrote back, "Thanks for the clarity. I am not your man." OK. Then you get a second e-mail from this same Fox producer. And it says, "What about a debate off the top on the show on whether or not Hillary is trustworthy? We have someone who says she is and we're looking for someone who says she isn't." Now, how common is that in cable news, that you only get to appear if you're willing to take a predetermined, precooked, prepackaged position?
SMERCONISH: Well, I think it's very common. It's exactly what I was just describing. I mean, it's this mentality that says that only good television is television which pits one individual against another and there's a fight that ensues. I just don't believe that.
I mean, what's wrong with a host taking a contrarian point of view in a respectful way? I think the viewers get all that they need. But you're right, in that circumstance -- and I raised it just as one clear example -- my invitation was predicated on my willingness to say that Barack Obama was cocky or that Hillary was untrustworthy. And I was unwilling in that circumstance to say either.
Today if you ask any of crazy conservatives on U4PREZ, what the biggest problem in America is today, and you’ll get drone like answers of over taxation, a sexualized culture, lack of respect for authority, insufficient church-going or the dreaded...big government running amok. But if you then asked you asked these same conservative clowns what the real source of the problem was, in unison and with the pride of a child who made his first doody, you’ll get the same answer....."Liberalism."
Anyways, after talking with Arjay last night, it is time to stop "debating" with the brain-dead zombies Trish, David2008, Hawk, Jamescart, Friday, Paul Cain, ect. So to all Liberals, Independents (excluding Mdum and Friday) here are some points of attack on conservatism, these will resonate with the public or anyone with an IQ above 90 and will win us all both short term and long term gains to those who use them.
1. Conservatism has without question failed. The overwhelming majority of the American public now and after 8 horrible years finally see the Bush administration as a complete failure. They failed in Iraq, they failed after Hurricane Katrina, they failed on health care, they failed to deliver rising wages, they failed on the deficit, they failed, they failed, they failed. But we Liberals need to argue that it wasn’t a product of incompetence (which it most certainly was a contributing factor), but rather a failure of conservative governance. The Washington Monthly stated, “Conservatives cannot govern well for the same reason that vegetarians cannot prepare a world-class boeuf bourguignon, If you believe that what you are called upon to do is wrong, you are not likely to do it very well.” Amen to that!
So say to Friday and Mdummy, you Conservatives had your chance. You a Republican president, a Republican Congress, Republican appointed courts in short, the perfect environment for enacting your vision with little to stand in their way and you failed. Should Americans be surprised at the level of corruption? Of course not!! Conservatives don’t think government is there to serve the people, so why shouldn’t Conservatives raid it for whatever they can get? We Liberals should start debating about the Bush administration’s failures not just as a president, but of an ideology.
2. Conservatism is the ideology of the past, a very terrible a past we don’t want to return to. Liberals must embrace the culture war, because we’re winning. Take Gay Marriage, state after state are going to make it legal! The story of American history is that of horrible conservative ideas and prejudices falling away as our society grows more progressive and thus more true to our nation’s founding ideals. Conservatives supported slavery, conservatives opposed women’s suffrage, conservatives supported Jim Crow, conservatives opposed the 40 hour work week, Mduminack and his goofy Conservatives would like to reverse child labor laws, and yes conservatives supported McCarthyism. Liberals pushed for all of the major advancements of freedom and justice in our history but they were opposed by conservatives, no matter the party they inhabited at the time.
Conservatism is Bill Bennett lecturing you about self-denial, then rushing off to feed his slot habit at the casino. It’s James Dobson telling you that children need regular beatings to stay in line. It’s a superannuated nun rapping you on the knuckles so you won’t think about your dirty parts. It’s Jerry Falwell watching “Teletubbies” frame by frame to see if Tinky Winky is trying to turn him gay. Conservatism is without question everyone you never wanted to grow up to be.
3. Conservatives are cowards, and they hope you are, too. They're afraid, they shout and foam at the mouth like a rabid dog. They're so afraid of terrorists, they have to become more like the things we hate. They’re so afraid, they let our government sanction torture. They’re so afraid, they let the government spy on us. They’re so afraid, they gave the president dictatorial powers. They’re so afraid, they just want to rush to the arms of politicians who say they’ll protect us from the evil doers!!
we liberals and anyone of higher intelligence need to frame their rejection of the fear campaign as an act of courage, Al-Qaida does not scare us, and we will not dismantle our democratic system because we are afraid. The America we love does not cower in fear, as the conservatives want it to.
These are just a few ways progressives can begin to talk about contemporary issues in the context of the larger ideological conflict that shapes our political history. As an added bonus, when we make clear just what it is we are against at its fundamental, philosophical level, we define for the public who we are and what we stand for.
Let us no longer give ignorance a soapbox, people like Trish, David2008, Hawk, Friday, Paul Cain ect, do not care to have rational debate. The truth, reality, or the facts are of no importance to them. So there is no reason to give them the time of day!!!
While it maybe a common mistake to assume that people are thinking when they vote and they are making sound and well thought out choices, I on the other hand harbor no such view. No argument or "debate" I have ever gotten into with these goofy ass people, despite my best to aviod talking to them, because I sometimes can't resist saying something true, has ever convinced anyone of anything. They are not reasoning, nor do they want to try. They simply believe what they believe. So my question is what do people like RD, MDummy, Fuckface Friday, Dicklovin' David, Trashy Trish, Doofus Lil' Jimmy, and of course the grand dummy of them all KansASS hayseed Hawk really believe?
1. They don't like blacks, mexicans, muslims, democrats or atheists. Now it isn't that they are racists. They will be polite if a black person or mexican ever appears. While you can be sure this doesn't happen much, although I am sure they must live in Hawks trailer park too. Lets be honest, they just don't like them. If you ask them today, as a result of remarks by First Lady Michelle Obama, or say their pastor, they will say that blacks hate America. This is not the reason, but they sound more reasoned in their own minds if they say it that way.
2. They don't like pussies. Retard-licans always believe the Democrats nominate pussies, men who are not men. Obama looks like his wife runs the show at home. Kerry? Gore? Dukakis. Wussies. Not real men. Bad people are trying to kill us. We need to kill them first. Those guys wouldn't pull the trigger. If I'm lying, I'm dying, you know I am not making this up, because I wish I were.
3. They worry about money. Who wants to take their money away? Liberals of course. They want to give it to the blacks or even worse THE MEXICANS and GAY HOMOS!!! AGHHHHHH RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, the sky is falling!
Where I live is in Tampa is not a redneck city, although Florida is VERY MUCH a redneck state. There is a lot of church going and a general distaste and distrust for people not like us, which certainly includes me.
So there are my three vaild reasons why people vote retard-lican or even worse conserva-turd. While it is all well and good to come up with complex analyses of what is going on, the real answer is quite simple. Most people can't think very well. They were taught not to think by religion and by a school system that teaches that knowledge of state capitals and quadratic equations is what education is all about and that well reasoned argument and original ideas will not help on a multiple choice test.
The sad fact is that we let them vote while at the same time failing to encourage them to think for themselves. THIS is the real problem for our society.
President Obama deserves our praise and our thanks for that. And yet he has gone but half-way. And, in this case, in far too many respects, half the distance is worse than standing still. Today, Mr. President, in acknowledging these science-fiction-like documents, you said that:
"This is a time for reflection, not retribution. I respect the strong views and emotions that these issues evoke."
"We have been through a dark and painful chapter in our history.
"But at a time of great challenges and disturbing disunity, nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past.
Mr. President, you are wrong. What you describe would be not "spent energy" but catharsis. Not "blame laid," but responsibility ascribed. You continued:
"Our national greatness is embedded in America's ability to right its course in concert with our core values, and to move forward with confidence. That is why we must resist the forces that divide us, and instead come together on behalf of our common future."
Indeed we must, Mr. President. And the forces of which you speak are the ones lingering with pervasive stench — from the previous administration. Far more than a criminal stench, Sir. An immoral one. One we cannot let be re-created.
One, President Obama, it is your responsibility to make sure cannot be re-created. Forgive me for quoting from a Comment I offered the night before the inauguration. But this goes to the core of the President's commendable, but wholly naive, intention. This country has never "moved forward with confidence".without first cleansing itself of its mistaken past....
As I watched in laughter at these douchebags with their cute signs calling President Obama a fascist and a communist, I thought these rightwing shit-4-brains really have no clue!
Because you jackass Conserva-turds, it's ideologically impossible to be both, in the same way it's impossible to be both informed and a Sean Insanity, Rush Limpballs fan, but then again I'm expecting too much logic and message coherence from people who spent all of Wednesday protesting against socialism and wealth redistribution while gathered in publicly funded, dare I say "socialized" parks and town squares. I mean is it any wonder why republicans and conserva-turds are such a joke!
So lets get back to that wacky "fascist" accusation. I'm not totaly convinced that douche baggers like Glen Beck and Sean Insanity understand that fascism is, in fact, right wing extremism and not some liberal undertaking. Because for the last 24 hours or so, Malkin, Limbaugh, Beck, Insanity and the usual band of apoplectic brainiacs appear to have been vigorously defending "right wing extremism" after having previously accused the president of being on the same flank of the ideological spectrum.
Yeah, I know. It doesn't make sense. But then again we are talking about Conserva-turds and Retard-licans!
Ol wacko christian hate monger James Dobson is going out with a whimper, literally and conceding the obvious, the Christian culture wars have completely failed!
James Dobson delivered a farewell speech to the Focus on the Family staff, and conceded that the culture war he helped start hasn't turned out well for the agents of intolerance. Indeed, Dobson almost sounded resigned to defeat.
James Dobson, 72, who resigned recently as head of Focus on the Family -- one of the largest Christian groups in the country -- and once denounced the Harry Potter books as witchcraft, acknowledged the dramatic reverse for the religious Right in a farewell speech to staff.
"We tried to defend the unborn child, the dignity of the family, but it was a holding action," he said.
"We are awash in evil and the battle is still to be waged. We are right now in the most discouraging period of that long conflict. Humanly speaking, we can say we have lost all those battles."
Now, in fairness, this report omitted some context. As my friend Kyle reported, Dobson actually emphasized his desire to keep the fight going, despite the religious right movement's setbacks: "Humanly speaking, we can say that we have lost all those battles, but God is in control and we are not going to give up now, right? ... I have been assured by the board and by many of you that we're not going to cow, we're not going to be discouraged."
He's admitting that up to this point they have lost the culture war (in their own heads) that they created as a fund raising tool. Many millions of dollars have been sucked out of the pockets of so many that could ill afford it, but it's their money and they can spend it freely. I find it appalling that the culture crowd never bothered to see if the elderly could actually afford to donate money that they so dearly need to live on that lined the pockets of these televangelists. I do not believe that all religious or evangelical causes are without merit and certainly many people that fall into the religious community are not as extreme as the views Dobson represents, but there is too much money to be made for them to throw in the towel:
Humanly speaking, we can say that we have lost all those battles, but God is in control and we are not going to give up now, right?
The world has turned colder for the family in recent years and there is such hostility to anyone who holds to a faith and we're going to take the heat. But I have been assured by the board and by many of you that we're not going to cow, we're not going to be discouraged. We're going to continue to express the love for the Scripture and the principles that we find there and if we are made fools for Christ, that's okay too because our purpose is to serve him and that he be pleased.
None of what Dobson tells his audience is true, but he's got to try and keep their movement going so he offers some words of encouragement. Where is the coldness to families? It's a fallacy, but they need phony causes like the War on Christmas to keep the money and the rage intact. By the way, my mother always loved Easter and since she's been gone this day brings me sadness that she's not here to enjoy it. I'm surprised BillO hasn't been able to facilitate the War on Easter yet. I know John Gibson and a few others have tried to get that one going, but even many from the religious right have a hard time believing that one.
Jon Stewart takes Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Andrew Breitbart, Michelle Bachmann and Fox News to task for their over the top rhetoric about President Obama only a ten weeks into his presidency.
Jon Stewart: Yes, tyranny. A.K.A. our democratically elected President. You know what guys....I think you might be confusing tyranny with losing. And I feel for you because ah...I've been there. A few times. In fact one of them was a bit of a nail biter. But see, when the guy that you disagree with gets elected, he's probably going to do things you disagree with. He could cut taxes on the wealthy. Remove government's oversight capability. Invade a country that you thought should not be invaded but that's not tyranny. That's democracy.
See now you're in the minority. It's supposed to taste like a shit taco. And by the way, if I remember correctly when a disagreement was expressed about that President's actions when ya'll were in power I believe the response was "Why do you hate America?". "Watch what you say." "Love it or leave it." "Suck on my truck nuts."....."For god's sake guys. You've been out of power for ten fucking weeks. You've got a mid-term election in twenty months. Pace your rage!"...................
HAHAHAHA, seriously, Retard-licans get your panties out of your ass and stop bitching!!! Sour-grape pusssies!!!
You gotta love it when a caller completely destroys RushBo. How did this happen? Limbaugh's defense of torture is sickening in of itself!! Transcript below!!!
CALLER: Thanks, Rush. Rush, listen, I voted Republican, and I didn't -- really didn't want to see Obama get in office. But, you know, Rush, you're one reason to blame for this election, for the Republicans losing.
First of all, you kept harping about voting for Hillary. The second big issue is the -- was the torture issue. I'm a veteran. We're not supposed to be torturing these people. This is not Nazi Germany, Red China, or North Korea. There's other ways of interrogating people, and you kept harping about it -- "It's OK," or "It's not really torture." And it was just more than waterboarding. Some of these prisoners were killed under torture.
And it just -- it was crazy for you to keep going on and on like Levin and Hannity and Hewitt. It's like you're all brainwashed.
And my last comment is, no matter what Obama does, you will still criticize him because I believe you're brainwashed. You're just -- and I hate to say it -- but I think you're a brainwashed Nazi. Anyone who could believe in torture just has got to be - there's got to be something wrong with them. His only defense against the caller is to say he's not a Republican...
LIMBAUGH: You know --
CALLER: And I know Bush wanted to keep us safe and all of that, but we're not supposed to be torturing these people.
LIMBAUGH: Charles, if anybody is admitting that they're brainwashed it would be you.
CALLER: No, no, no, Rush. I don't think so.
LIMBAUGH: Charles. Charles, Charles --
CALLER: You, Hannity, Hewitt, and Levin are all brainwashed and you know it!
Wow, Rush getting owned like the stupid Conserva-turd he is!!!!
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Democrat Al Franken's lead in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race widened Tuesday to 312 votes after previously rejected absentee ballots were added to the counting.
Franken did better than Republican Norm Coleman by a nearly 2-to-1 margin as the ballots were opened and counted as part of a lawsuit brought by Coleman over the statewide recount. A three-judge panel ruled earlier that 351 ballots had been improperly rejected during the election and should be restored.
Franken led by 225 votes going into Tuesday's count of those ballots
"The problem that Sen. Coleman has is he lost fair and square," Elias said. "He lost because more people voted for Al Franken than voted for Norm Coleman. No amount of lawyering or sophisticated legal arguments is going to change that."
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, a Democrat, welcomed an appeal. He said an election certificate should be issued once the justices rule.
The certificate will come from Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty's office. Pawlenty has said he'll await direction from the courts before granting the certificate.
Just when I thought no one could top Ann Coulter-geist, here comes wingnut-tinfoil hat queen Minnesota's worst..Michelle Bachmann. Isn't the state of Minnesota embarrassed enough already over Norm Coleman's hold out? Yet they re-elected one of the craziest wacked members of Congress back into office, and people, she's not going to stop with the "right-wing Patriot" wingnut rhetoric. Her latest rant piggybacks on a Glenn Beck rant, only she left off "FEMA camps."
Minnesota Independent:
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says she fears the Obama administration will create “re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.”
Here’s what Bachmann said on Minnesota radio station KTLK-AM (podcast) this weekend (in reference to The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, a proposed expansion of the AmeriCorps program that Obama may sign into law this week):
It’s under the guise of quote volunteerism. But it’s not volunteers at all. It’s paying people to do work on behalf of government. …
I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.
Alex Koppelman has more:
"it's time for Bachmann and her fellow travelers to think seriously about the real-world impact of some of their more paranoid statements. This weekend provided a good example of comments that Bachmann should go back and reconsider."
Wingnut Bachmann has been on a roll lately, worrying that the U.S. is making "the final leap to socialism" and spreading completely insane theories about the potential replacement of the dollar as U.S. currency. Over the weekend, in an interview with a local radio station, Bachmann jumped on what's now become a substantial bandwagon, espousing one of the paranoid, and completely untrue, rumors about the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, a bill intended to enhance volunteerism in the U.S. But if you're curious (which Conserva-turds and Retard-licans clearly are not), FactCheck.org has a good debunking of this sort of stuff about the bill.
So for all those folks in Bachmann's district suffering from the foreclosure epidemic in their midst, here is a quesion...How's that conservative governance treating you these days?
