Palin Resigns From One Office But Is It To Get Another?

kempite
To hear that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is resigning in two weeks is shocking news. At least to those of us not in her family.

The reasoning for this was explained by her husband Todd Palin as he stated that the Governor wants to dedicate more time to issues important to the nation and not just Alaska.

Her brother believes that Sarah Palin concluded that her and her staff are having to defend themselves against so many unfounded ethics complaints that she believes too much time and energy is having to be spent on defending herself and that she is not able to spend as much time and energy on the business of the state as it should properly receive.

I believe the answer is a mix of the two explanations.

Sarah Palin’s entrance on to the national stage made a significant splash.

Liberals automatically tried to write her off as a small town mayor. Feminists reared their hypocritical heads and tried to admonish her for being a conservative and Alaska Democrats dedicated all their time to trying to tarnish the rising star of their state’s Republican Governor.

As a result she became a target of frivolous and false charges and accusations that have cost millions in legal fees and countless hours of defense. This indeed absorbed much of her time. It was time taken away from her responsibilities. And it was all because petty partisan players wanted to insure that Sarah Palin has no political future.

Given these circumstances, I believe that the Governor sincerely decided to put an end to all that was distracting the state leaders from the important business at hand and to the opportunity that her continuing as Governor afforded liberals who tried to turn every breath she took into an ethics charge.

By resigning, not only is the excuse that partisan players have to throw accusations at her gone, but it gives Alaskans the opportunity to continue building on her substantial work with a strong successor in Lt. Governor Parnell and her the opportunity to move on.

What resigninging is for may just be for bigger and better plans. It may possibly be a plan to devote three years to earning the Republican nomination for President.

Sarah Palin may just have been planning to run for the nomination ever since the conclusion of the 2008 election but now she may also be fed up with all that was thrown at her in an attempt to deny her of that chance. She may be fed up with the politics that is being used against her and decided to double up her efforts.

If this is an opening statement in the 2012 election race for President it is quite dramatic. It is also risky. Some will accuse her of not fulfilling her responsibilities to the people of Alaska. Others will understand that Democrats have made Sarah Palin more the issue than the issues themselves and that by stepping down as Governor, all that she has so far accomplished can be built upon and all that must still be done can be done without the distraction of every liberals favorite target being in the way.

And through it all Sarah Palin just might now have the time to take ownership of the conservative mantle as she becomes free to take up the causes and issues important to her and our nation.

However this plays out, Sarah Palin is pissed and like they say, hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn. So believe me, Sarah Palin is not going to leave the national stage quietly. In fact I think she may have just jumped on the stage and is about to open the curtains.

She couldnt hack 4 years as Governor who are we joking. The White House is even more media and glaring lights. Say what u will about Bush but at least he hacked it out for 8 years regardless of the punchlines and attacks.
i guess that people like me, Ron paul, peter schiff, Steve Kubby and Mary Ruwart are the opposite
Nothing exists without an opposite... no light without dark, no warmth without cold, etc. It's the basic idea expressed by the Yin-Yang symbol. How does this apply to politics? If we go over to true one party rule, the party will split. Often, the only reason for unity is a common enemy.
hey we might go to a 1 party rule but its the same as the two party rule we had, *now people can be blind followers of our politicians like libby as an example (*the thing didn't correct)
hey we might go to a 1 party rule but its the same as the two party rule we had, know people can be blind followers of our politicians like libby as an example
let me see jindal is a laughing stock, standford and ensign wont run , palin i dont know but i dont think she will. who knows what mitt will do
It's moments like these that make our Founding Fathers proud...
you leave bird-brain! We won the elections, Democrats are in power, so like you assholes said when retard-licans where in power, "If you don't like it...MOVE'!!!!! So fuck off Hawk and take you and your bird to North Korea!
Keep up the politics of personal destruction you bottom feeding liberals. You preach tolerance and practice hate.. you are all a bunch of WHINY ASS PUSSIES. I wish you would all pack up and go live somewhere like Hugos Venezuala, you would be happy there and the United States would become a better country as soon as you left our air space!
Right on. I think the best thing that could happen to the Democratic Party, in addition to the country, is if she does get involved in national issues. Why? Because she's polarizing to such a degree with the very voters that she'd need to win: Independents and the "Sensible center," as Senator Mark Warner puts it. Look back to the 2008 election. The race was relatively close until roughly a week or so after McCain chose Palin. The more this woman opens her mouth, the more folks realize that she's not cut out for the prime time.
looks like she studied well the document he will break
So Barack Obama, Constitutional law professor, state legislator and Senator was too inexperienced to be president. So now the Repulicans want to nominate a lady whos been governor for 2 years. So what does Palin do now? Just go on television and say more stupid bullshit? There are very smart conservatives with whom I respectfully disagree on many issues, but Sarah Palin is a fucking idiot and I think its pathetic anyone wants her to be president.
Oh I have been waiting since 2006! And everyday brings a new low and show of hypocrisy and stupidty. From John Ensign to Mark Sanford to Palin quiting 2 years early. How in hell is this going to help Republicans from being the butt of jokes?
Now after scraping the scum that is libby off of my shoes, to address a decent human being, friday, I too have doubts about the benefits of palin resigning. However, if played rught, this can all help to benefit her outsider, not politics-as usual credentials. This can be turned into a plus. Sacrificing herself for the sake of allowing Alaskans to build upon her many achievements in the almost two years prior to her becoming a liberal target, can become a beneficial quality. It can also helps infuriate much of the electorate which, which will lash out at the political establishment that played partisan political games in an attempt to plague Palin with problems that were unneccssary distractions from the work for the people that she was trying to carry out. This could all help but it must be articulated and developed very carefully to work.
Hey Lib, Keep waiting beacuse your stoned behind will be a stunned one. And by the way, instead of trying to tell Republicans what they think why don't you concern yourself with what others think of you and your useless propaganda and baseless rants. But keep banging those nails into trees my friend. At least that will take some time away from the musical pollution you produce.
Still, I don't think she should have resigned if she is planning on running in 2012.
Democrats have succeeded in making sure one more woman stays below the glass ceiling. 15 unfounded ethics complaints against her that were all dismissed. It's the same thing Conyers tried to do to Bush.
Hey Kemp REPUBLICANS think Palin is wacked for quiting 2 years early!! Stop making excuses fuckface! They are saying it is political suicide!! And also where is your skills helping republicans? Franken won, tedisco lost, when is theis republican turn around taking place??? I'm still waiting!
And what better source is there on stupidity than Liberal411? Libby you are really sad and your shtick is really old and tired. Go back to hanging signs.
yeah Palin as President, that has as much a chance as you getting a fucking BRAIN! While Americans were stupid from 2000-2004, they are no longer THAT stupid!
Just getting stated baby!!! I listened to her entire announcement. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there. I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American. I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support. GO SARAH GO!
