We Mutually Pledge to Each Other Our Lives, Our Fortunes, and Our Sacred Honor.

Yes the economy is not doing well. Yes Government has gotten bigger. Yes the national debt is bigger. Business are failing. Soical issues plauge our nation. To say nothing of the overseas issues our nation faces. Yes things seem bad don't they? Well lets go back into time to 1776 the Colonies were trying to break away from England and from the tyranny of the King and Parliment. If they lose and it looked like they might for awhile well they would all be hung for treason against the crown. And yet they still had the courage to sign the most important document of our nation's and even the world's history the Declaration of Independence.

This document founded our nation. And it was written and signed during a time when it looked like the revolution might be defeated. But did they give up? Certainly their where some that wanted to strike a deal with the King but in the end they decided to go all the and form a new nation. The courage it took to defy the world's biggest empire at the time with the finest army and navy is just amazing. Yes these founders were not perfect man by any means and our nation does not always live up to the ideals that they put forth not just in this document but later the Constitution and Bill of Rights but I can say even with all the things that are going on I am PROUD to be an American. These ideals give us something to fight for. And fight for them we should.

Yes things might look bleak to many people even myself at times. But then you look at what those who signed this document and those who fought in the Contiental Army went through and you realize their courage and that things today are not really all that bad. So while you are out with family cooking, having some drinks, watching fire works just remember the courage and scarafice that had it not been their we would not be the nation we are today. God Bless you, and God Bless America! Happy 4th of July!

Thanks G-Money glad u liked.
Got a couple of tears in my eyes while singing The Star Spangled Banner today at a sporting event. I thought of both the courage of the Founding Fathers and the ultimate sacrifice given by all those who have served in our military. Then found myself very thankful. Thank you EROCK, once again for a great blog entry.
